[edit]Is this the island spelling? Or a misspelling of Beguine by someone who does not know "Begin the Beguine" or who a béguine was.

No it is the correct spelling for this kind of music. A good friend of mine (Ruud Hulshof // Netherlands) who is a huge fan of this style of music and who is great painter and artist has based alot of his work on this era.Of this a very little known music or like he loves to call it the "hardrock of the thirties" he likes to blast it from his stereo and even in his car. While uttering remarks like ; ' listen to that clarinet' or 'check the trombone'
He has collected alot of the recordings that survived from libraries and old reproductions, compilations the quality lacks on some of those but if you listen beyond that you can haer some wonderful and exciting music

- So, how is the word "beguine" and the music and dance it denotes, related to the word "biguine" and its music and dance? --Egmonster (talk) 05:18, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Son of origins

Spelling of Biguine?
[edit]I have read the previous comment of the spelling of biguine being spelled with an "i" instead of an "e" but I have seen in multiple places, including the dictionary, that it is spelled "beguine." It does derive from the dance style of the same name and that style is spelled "beguine," and not "biguine." Fryej5 (talk) 19:36, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
